Blogroll Amnesty Day

So having only been blogging for about 7 months now, I was not familiar with Blogroll Amnesty Day.

But having seen several posts in honor of smaller blogs, I think that it's a terrific idea. I am, obviously, one of the small, smaller, smallest blogs. I know. I check my stats. But I also don't really care about being popular or having a lot of traffic. I have been plugged in to an INCREDIBLE community of bloggers and I admire each and every one of you. I'm in this blogging game to talk to smart, funny, crazy people and that's what I'm getting so far!

So I am linking to some blogs that I think probably get MUCH more traffic than I do but are still small blogs. (I could be completely wrong, so please don't be offended if you think you don't belong on my list!) Please check out these bloggers, listed in completely random order, and give them some deserved attention!

A Visual Experiment
Liberality
Swerve Left
Vagabond Scholar
The Life and Times of NotSoccer Mom
I Was Just Wondering
Kelso's Nuts
The Invisible Woman
The Great Endarkenment

The Public Intellectual
Braaains

If I think of some more I'll update.

Thank you so much for including me on your list. No, I don't get a tremendous amount of traffic and you know that I'm such a nit about DIY that I neither check stats nor do I politic for blog honors.

I can proudly claim that while I don't get the huge traffic, I haven't had any complaints and my regulars are great thinkers and usually pretty fucking witty.

Nice to run into your blog via Blue Herald and Battochio.. Giving you some link love..

Thanks, and what's embarrassing is I had planned to link ya (and did) for B.A.D. before I read this...

thanks for the link. I worked over the weekend so I had no idea about this "blogroll amnesty day" until I began looking around today (Monday). I know that not a lot of people read me and I don't expect them too. I like having a place to vent my frustration and where I can bond with others who have similar, but not necessarily identical, polictical views. Out here in the red state of Indiana I get to feeling freaky sometimes. Like I am SO liberal as to be unbelieveable. Then I check out the blogs and realise that I am not some liberal freak at all. That is the power of blogging IMO! I like your ranting girl, you just rant away and I'll continue to read ya!

The smaller blogs are far more interesting anyway. This is the real discourse, not that mediated bigwig crap.

Kelso: ¡Claro, compañero!

Fade: Welcome and thanks for the link. I checked out your blog - very cool. I've added you to my blogroll as well. Hope to see you here again.

Batocchio: No embarassment necessary. Thanks for the link.

Liberality: It seems like your readership is growing, and so it should be. You're one of the most genuine and passionate bloggers I read. I completely agree with you on the blogging thing - I like that we may be on the same side, but we're not in 100% agreement about everything. That's the beauty of debate. I've learned a lot about my own beliefs and principles just from sharing them through blogging. Likewise, I've even had my own mind changed about some things from engaging with my fellow bloggers. It can be frustrating sometimes, just because of the nature of this method of communication. But overall it's pretty fucking cool! Thanks for reading and rant on, sister!

Randal: Exactement, mon ami. I can't believe how many cool people I get to exchange with on a regular basis. Like you, for example!

Suzi - Si supiera usted habló español, yo le habría escrito en esa lengua Romántica maravillosa. Pero todavía me estoy preguntando lo que agravié para no ganar al amor linky de usted.... me llamo afligido.

Nice post, Suzi. Keep ranting!

Peace!

Senor Spartacus tenia razon. Cieto que merecia el honor de linky. Tambien estoy seguro que su espiritu se queda fuerte y no le has dado nada de dano ni herido ni insulto.

I'll do an immigration post when I have a little time but for now I think it's encumbent upon the three of us and FranIam to "make Spanish cool again" in the lefty blogosphere for crying out loud, because the immigration debate is being framed between two equally bad poles: Indentured servitude and ethnic cleansing.

Kelso and Sparty (yeah, I'm calling you Sparty):

I'm sorry! I included Kelso because he's always going on about his small readership. I didn't include you, mi querido Sparty, because I figured you're blog gets really good readership. I am so sorry if I offended you with my withholding of el amor linky. Hopefully Kelso is correct and your strong spirit will see through this insult. As an effort to rectify my mistake, you'll get your own special post all to yourself! ;)

I think it would be really cool to bring the Spanish back to the lefty blogsphere. Alas, my reading comprehension skills far outweigh my writing and vocabulary. Ten years total of Spanish language classes and a minor from UCLA, and I can barely speak the language since I'm so out of practice. I can still get through La Celestina and El Libro de Buen Amor though! I promise to try harder to break out the Espanol.

DCNY: Flattery will, naturally, get you everywhere. ;)

Spartacus said...

No se preocupe de él Suzi. No era serio sobre el amor linky en todos. Qué realmente me excitaron alrededor era el descubrimiento que usted habló español. Y ahora que sé, podemos hacer qué Kelso dijo y hacemos español chévere otra vez.... ¡Sparty!

Hi Suzi, I wanted to participate in Blogroll Amnesty Day too but a family crisis arose and I never did.

I'll be sure to go check out your list! I already read some of them regularly - all great - but there are some on the list I'm not familiar with!

I love these days when people point out other blogs for us to read. Soon I fear I will have no time to do anything else but read blogs. As it was I took a day off a week or so ago and that's all I did all day, LOL!

Suzi Riot said...

Mauigirl: I know! I love discovering unfamiliar blogs, but I feel like I need an extra day of the week just for reading them all!
